Girls Soccer Jerseys CCL- Eliminated again, RSL want to avoid another funk_2

“We’ll just try and pick ourselves up and turn it around,” said captain Kyle Beckerman. “We’ve got some really important games coming up so we can still have a really good season if we get our stuff together.”

READ: The Throw-In: Last hurrah for RSL’s core group?

A key word for the team lies in Beckerman’s observation: together. Ever since Kreis took control as coach in 2007, he has preached the philosophy: “the team is the star.” So don’t expect anything different from the club.

"Nobody was frustrated at each other, just frustrated at the situation,” said midfielder Will Johnson. “You know, that’s CONCACAF. That’s the ugly side of CONCACAF. It always has been and as long as it continues like this, it always will be. So I think the guys are together and looking forward to getting back to MLS play and some real football.”

So for RSL, the question becomes: Will the elimination deflate the team or serve as a rallying cry? With a group of veterans, they all are at least saying the right things.

The New England Revolution will enter the upcoming campaign with a completely new strike tandem after Rajko Lekic cinched his return to Denmark on Monday.

Lekic has signed a one-and-a-half year deal with Danish SuperLiga side Lyngby Boldklub, according to a press release posted on the club’s website. The 30-year-old forward will leave MLS after scoring six goals in 23 appearances during his one season with the Revolution.

The deal secures Lekic’s future after the Revolution opted to decline its option to retain his services in 2012. Revolution general manager Michael Burns told MLSsoccer.com earlier this month that his club had submitted a revised offer to Lekic earlier in the offseason and left the discussions open after the forward decided not to agree to those terms.

Lekic told examiner.com earlier this month that he rejected the Revolution’s proposal at least in part because he wanted a fully guaranteed deal for the upcoming campaign.

According to Martin Jol, Clint Dempsey refuses to play for Fulham again. According to Dempsey himself, there might be more to the story than that.

The will-he-move-or-won’t-he saga took a turn for the surreal on Friday, as Fulham’s manager blasted the US international during a press conference and called the situation the club is in regarding a rumored move to Liverpool “almost embarrassing.”

“Clint Dempsey wants to move,” Jol said. “He doesn’t want to commit to this club and, while I would like to keep him, it’s impossible because he wants to move. He told me that he wants to go to a Champions League club – he said it last year, he said it in the summer, and he said it again.”

Jol added that Dempsey would not figure in Fulham’s 2012-13 Premier League debut on Saturday vs. Norwich City. Dempsey – the Cotwoman soccer jerseytagers’ top scorer last season with 23 goals in all competitions – has been absent from Fulham’s preseason preparations and tour, training instead with the club’s youth side back in London.

The two-time World Cup veteran has yet to publicly respond to Jol’s comments, but he didn’t shy away from Twitter on Friday.

“There are two sides to the story,” he tweeted, then followed that up with, “The truth will come out soon.”

Dempsey had been linked to a move to Liverpool recently, but interest from the Reds – who didn't qualify for the Champions League this year, either – appears to have cooled.

The 29-year-old attacker is in the final year of his contract. He's been with Fulham since 2007.

France Ligue 1 Jerseys Late night, long flight no problem for “focused” Sporting

Late night, long flight no problem for "focused" Sporting

For a team that didn't get to bed until well after midnight, Sporting Kansas City looked a pretty lively bunch in Wednesday night's 2-0 road win over the New York Red Bulls.

Sporting were supposed to fly out Tuesday afternoon for the critical Eastern Conference clash. Instead, bad weather on the East Coast kept the flight grounded for hours in Kansas City.

“That was the longest delay that I've been a part of since joining the league,” center back Matt Besler toldMLSsoccer.comby phone after the match. “I think we waited seven hours in the airport before we took off.”

The plane didn't land in New York until 1:45 am ET. By the time the first head hit a pillow in the team hotel, it was a quarter to three. But when Sporting took the pitch just over 17 hours later, after grabbing an extra hour of sleep on Wednesday morning, they showed no ill effects.

“We weren't too worried about it, to be honest,” Besler said. “I know it sounds bad, getting in so late, but we made our adjustments and we didn't let it affect us at all.”

That's a tribute to his players' professionalism, manager Peter Vermes said.

“The guys had a great attitude about the unfortunate circumstances,” said Vermes, whose East leaders ran their unbeaten streak to seven straight and handed the Red Bulls their first home defeat of the year.

“What are you going to do? It's weather. Everybody understood. The guys were greatcheap thailand soccer jersey . They kept their mind focused on the job at hand.”

And for Sporting, that job entailed pressing the Red Bulls from the opening whistle – an approach that yielded C.J. Sapong's 12th-minute goal and Kei Kamara's header off of Graham Zusi's corner kick in the 21stminute.

“We wanted to put them under pressure and drive opportunities for ourselves,” Vermes said. “The guys were locked in. Really locked in. [New York] had no rhythm coming out of the back. They were very predictable, and that changed the game around. The two goals were bound to come, with our intensity around the attacking half.”

OPTA SPOTLIGHT: Sporting relentless

Sporting were just as energetic at the other end of the pitch, holding the high-powered Red Bulls scoreless at home for the first time this season. That gave Jimmy Nielsen his 12thclean sheet of 2012, one ahead of Houston's Tally Hall for the league lead.

“It was a great team effort, defensively,” Besler said. “The Red Bulls at home are a very, very good attacking team. So it's a job well done to everybody.”

English Premier League Jerseys FCD’s Hyndman chooses to focus on positives after loss

Stuck in the middle of an eight-game winless streak, FC Dallas found themselves struggling to hold leads and score goals. At one point during the streak, FCD went 231 minutes without finding net.

Against Real Salt Lake on Saturday night, the offense finally started firing on all cylinders. They poured it on during the last 25 minutes, tallying twice, putting the home side on the back foot often and generally looking like a revitalized team.

OPTA Chalkboard: FCD get it going down the stretch, but it's not enough

And it wasn’t enough. DespiteGermany Soccer Jersey all their efforts, the winless streak hit nine as FCD crumbled in stoppage time, conceding a Nat Borchers goal in the 93rd minute to fall 3-2.

Nonetheless, head coach Schellas Hyndman is choosing to look on the bright side.

“We got realistically two guys running at you," he told MLSsoccer.com of his short-handed side. "We have Blas Pérez and Jackson. Everyone else is just filling holes right now. It’s encouraging to score two goals.”

And it was encouraging to see his side fight almost to the last against the table-topping Claret-and-Cobalt.

“I think it’s more encouraging to come back twice and not give up with the adversity that was out there,” Hyndman said.

Pérez, who leads the team with five goals this season, spent most of the time complaining to referees about a lack of calls, but came through in the clutch and tied the game 2-2 deep in the second half.

The veteran striker claims that his score was somewhat of a silver lining, but with nearly a month-long break coming up, FCD need to do more than score a couple of goals.

“We need to take this loss and understand that we need to better ourselves a lot,” Pérez said. “It’s not worth anything if we go out and score and fight until the end if they score a goal to win it at the end. The work is just thrown to the floor.”

FCD need to earn points or this season could very well be over by the end of summer. However, Pérez believes the break will benefit the team by allowing key players to recover from injuries and to regain a focus that will allow them to make a run and finally break the winless habits.

“There are still a lot of games left. We have a lot of time to get healthy,” he said. “We’re going to try to do the right things so we can come back and get points.”

World Cup Soccer Jerseys Chivas ‘keeper coach the man behind Kennedy’s rise_2

González’s program has done wonders for Kennedy, who has become well-known throughout the league for his penchant for acrobatic saves and has staked an ironclad claim on the Goats No. 1 shirt.

“We have a really good understanding of what it takes to do the work to be prepared for games in this league,” Kennedy told MLSsoccer.com about his relationship with GonzálezGermany Soccer Jersey. “Every week is different because you’re always dealing with different elements. We have an open dialogue which makes it easier for me to get out of training what I think need to get out of it and what he thinks I need to get out of it.”

Before blossoming into one of the best goalkeepers in the league, Kennedy dealt with a pair of injuries that ruled him out for the 2008 and 2009 seasons, preventing him from winning the starting job.

The low point was a tear in the long head tendon of his left biceps in 2009. González was instrumental in helping the goalkeeper regain his confidence, work through rehab and eventually get to where he is today.
